Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Tigzi mobile application ("App") or this website ("Site"). Tigzi is a learn-to-read app that turns photos into personalized stories for kids, operated by Tigzi.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

Tigzi is intended for children learning to read, under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and are the parent or guardian of any child using the App on your device.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

3. AI-generated content

Personalized stories and word explanations are generated from information and photos you provide using our hosted processing service and AI models. When that service is unavailable or busy, requests may be processed by OpenRouter and an AI model provider available through OpenRouter. While we apply age-appropriate content filters, AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate or unexpected. You are responsible for reviewing stories before sharing them with your child. Automated read-aloud transcription and reading feedback may also contain errors and are educational aids, not professional assessments.

4. Parent responsibility

As the parent or guardian, you are responsible for:

• Supervising your child's use of the App
• Configuring appropriate content filters and screen time limits
• Keeping your parental PIN secure
• Ensuring camera photos taken in the App are appropriate

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to bypass parental controls or PIN protection
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App to generate or distribute harmful or inappropriate content

6. Third-party services

The App may use OpenRouter and its available model providers for fallback AI processing, PostHog for product analytics and diagnostics, RevenueCat for subscription entitlements, and Apple App Store or Google Play for payments. Their processing is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party service availability or content.

7. Intellectual property

The Tigzi name, logo, mascot, and app design are our intellectual property. Stories generated by the App are created for your personal use; we make no claim of ownership over them.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI-generated stories will always meet your expectations.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tigzi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data or AI content inaccuracies.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes via an in-app notice.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where Tigzi is registered.
