Tigzi is committed to protecting your family's privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Who this app is designed for

Tigzi is a reading app designed for children, used under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Parents create and manage all account settings, content filters, and parental controls.

2. What we collect

On-device only (not sent to us):

• Child's name, age, and avatar (stored locally on your device)
• Generated stories and reading history
• Parental PIN and screen time settings
• Reading progress and vocabulary data

When you generate a story: A photo you take and your child's age are sent to Google Gemini (our AI provider) solely to generate the story text. This data is not stored by us and is subject to Google's privacy policy.

Waitlist (landing page only): If you submit your email on our waitlist page, it is collected via Formspark to notify you of our launch. We will never sell or share your email.

Analytics: We use PostHog for anonymous, aggregated in-app analytics (e.g. which features are used). No personal identifiers or child data are sent to PostHog.

3. What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your child's voice recordings — speech recognition runs on-device
• We do not run ads or build advertising profiles
• We do not sell data to any third party
• We do not require account registration

4. Children's privacy (COPPA)

Tigzi is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. All child-related data remains on your device and under your control.

5. Data storage and security

All story content, reading history, and profile data are stored locally on your device using secure device storage. We do not operate servers that store your personal or family data.

6. Third-party services

• Google Gemini API — for AI story generation only
• PostHog — anonymous in-app analytics
• Formspark — waitlist email collection (landing page only)

7. Your rights

Because all data is on your device, you are in full control. You can delete any story, reset all settings, or uninstall the app at any time to remove all associated data.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will notify users of material changes via an in-app notice or updated date above.
